Seniors and Marriage

There are a number of concerns for seniors who are considering remarrying. Pension, health insurance, social security benefits, and alimony are among the many financial concerns that need to be addresses when making the decision to marry. there are also the issues with inheritance and the characterization of the separate property of each spouse. In California, individuals over 62 years of age also have the option of registering as domestic partners with the Secretary of state, which afford them the same protections and benefits as marriage in the state of California.
